Retail Tech Fair EuroCIS to Return as In-person Event This Spring

After a two year hiatus, EuroCIS, a leading European trade fair for retail technology, is preparing to welcome lecturers and attendees back to its stages for three days of insightful discussions and demonstrations from some of the world’s most innovative retail technology leaders.

Held May 31-June 2, 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany, the event’s Retail Technology and Connected Retail Stages will offer extensive lecture programs covering topics such as customer centricity and connected retail, as well as provide a glimpse into the future as thought leaders share insight into the consumer trends that are redefining commerce.

Some of those trends were highlighted by EuroCIS board member and EHI-Retail Institute SVP Ulrich Spaan, who spoke to RETHINK Retail about the trends that are already transforming the European retail landscape, particularly within the fashion industry.

“We were already seeing a strong structural change in the fashion industry prior to the pandemic,” Spaan revealed. “So many companies are reducing the numbers of their stores to focus on flagship stores and specific locations, as well as leaning into their strong online growth.”

Other topics attendees can expect to see on this year’s agenda include analytics, machine learning and payments, noted Elke Moebius, the event’s program director, during an interview with RETHINK Retail.

“Payment is in the DNA of EuroCIS,” she explained. “Now more than ever, the pandemic has changed consumer behavior when it comes to contactless and autonomous payments, mobile and online payments, and just about everything related to checkout technology.

And for those with busy schedules, EuroCIS will offer registered attendees the option to livestream every lecture or view later on-demand.

In addition to hours of insights, EuroCIS offers attendees personalized networking opportunities through the power of its digital matchmaking tool and even grants exhibitors the option to extend their physical show presence via the event’s online profile service.

“When the visitor is on site, of course the exhibitor can meet with them personally,” Moebius explained. “But if not, they can meet in virtual rooms where they can virtually present videos, products, manuals, white papers—whatever they like.”
